Registered Massage Therapists are highly trained health care providers who employ a combination of soft tissue manipulation, joint mobilization, relaxation, and exercise techniques to help decrease pain, stress, and facilitate healing.


Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the primary modality used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and mainly employs inserted needles in strategic areas of the body to aid return to proper function and homeostasis.

Shahram (John) Ahmadian was named Valedictorian of Pacific Coastal University, College of Holistic Medicine, Chinese Medicine doctor program 2012, as well as in advanced medical laser program 2020 in Canada. Along with his long term commitment in Bio-sciences and research with two masters, international awards from the University of California, Riverside, USA and Kobe University, Japan, he became very passionate about contributing his achievements to human health.

He is currently a registered acupuncturist as well as being a member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia. He is currently teaching and practicing with a keen interest in pain management, internal diseases and disorders, men’s physical and mental health; and is trained to deal with a variety of issues including; all kinds of headache, anxiety, depression, stress, anxiety, insomina, gastro-intestinal disorders, neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, and male sexual dysfunction.

James is a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s (WCCMT) 3000 hour program and has been in practice since 2012.

In the past, James has been an educator at WCCMT focusing on systemic illnesses such as headaches, digestive issues and circulatory problems. James has also volunteered within the community by donating his massage skills to organizations such as: Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and the BC Positively Living Society.

James uses a variety of techniques, such as: Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Myo-Fascial, Trigger Point Release, Stretching, M.E.T. (muscle energy technique), and Joint Mobilizations. James is also a certified Pediatric Massage Therapist.

Erika made the best decision in her life when she left the stressful world of finance and enrolled in the 3000 hour RMT program at WCCMT. Since completing her Board Examinations in 2012, she has enjoyed providing genuine care to every client. She utilizes her adept knowledge, adaptability, intuition, and focused intent to deliver treatments that provide relief and facilitate recovery.

Erika has successfully treated various conditions and people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, lifestyles, and professions. Stress relief and chronic pain are very close to her heart. Quality of life is a priority she both practices for herself and preaches to her clients. Erika is beyond excited to be practicing downtown again, close to her home where she has worked, lived, and played for most of her life.

Erika works part-time as an Outreach Instructor at VCMT, and becoming a full-time instructor has been a long term goal. She has recently started the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program with the help of a scholarship from RMTBC.

Apart from work and learning, her joys in life include the beach, camping, kayaking, travel, and most of all; quality time with chosen family and friends.

Kim grew up on the West Coast and graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3000 hour program in New Westminster. His interest in massage therapy began while globe-trotting in Australia, when he happened to find himself in the company of a group of health professionals. Kim brings a genuine openness, curiosity, and enthusiastic smile to every treatment. His orthopaedic approach may include the use of myofascial release, joint mobilizations, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, and Swedish massage. Kim recognizes the individuality and changing nature of the human body and mind, and therefore adapts every treatment to fit your present needs. Whether that means restoring you to function after an injury, getting you back to work, bettering your quality of life, or simply helping you relax, Kim is happy to help each and every person who walks through his door.

Kim joined the the Wellness Team on the BC Bike Race in 2014, an annual seven-day staged mountain bike stage race, travelling with approximately 650 athletes.

Justin has been an RMT in downtown Vancouver since 2007 - Justin completed his massage therapy training at WCCMT in Victoria BC in 2006, after several years in post-secondary studying business, linguistics, and history. He has been practicing in downtown Vancouver since completing board examinations in 2007 and has developed a real passion for anatomy, physiology, physical fitness, and restoring his clients to proper function.

Justin was an instructor at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy for over 5 years, teaching the subjects of muscle and bone anatomy, and advising hands-on in the student clinic preparing hopeful RMTs for a future of practice. He hopes to return to teaching in the future.

Please ask Justin as many questions as you need. He loves to share his knowledge of human anatomy and systems of the body, and has a knack for explaining his process and reasons for treatment in a very digestible way.

Carly has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2007 and completed her 3000 hour training in her hometown of Victoria BC. She uses a variety of therapeutic techniques to target specific areas of dysfunction and restore alignment. Carly incorporates deep tissue work in conjunction with general Swedish techniques to provide a personal and calming experience.

With nearly 17 years of practice under her belt, Carly enjoys woking with a diverse range of clientele and is skilled at addressing unique concerns. She is a strong proponent of the benefits of biomechanics education.
